I’m Melody

Your Health Nurse Coach

Welcome to Alight & Align Holistic Health Coaching! I am honored you’re here and you’re allowing me the opportunity to walk with you on this amazing journey called LIFE.


I am a Certified Holistic Health Nurse Coach, experienced Health and Wellness Coach, mother of two beautiful daughters, three little yappers, and wife to one man (let’s hope so, right?), an avid DIYer, reader and researcher, born rebel, deep thinker, heart follower, and life lover.

Whew!

But there’s more. After 24 years in the medical field, the birth of my first daughter, a devastating medical condition that followed, and multiple traumas that ensued over the next few years, I was searching for healing, balance, strength, acceptance, love, and guidance. None of which I knew where to look or where to go to get help to find it.

I felt lost. I felt suffering and emotional distress. I questioned everything. I felt disconnected from myself and the entire world around me. I realized I had spent most of my young adult life bearing the burden of generational trauma; never believing I was good enough or deserving of happiness.

Fast forward years of healing and self-work and I’m more grounded, connected, and aware than I ever dreamed possible. I had no idea how messed up I was until I wasn’t! Today, I feel like I am on my true path and there is a light leading the way. Of course, I’m still learning. I desire it. That’s the beauty of self-work; there is always an opportunity to learn, to grow, and be truer.

Which brings me to present day. My past struggles are now experiences I use to bring hope, inspiration, and clarity to individuals seeking a deeper meaning in life and a healthier lifestyle. Struggles can birth new inspiration and a profound desire to show up differently. And so, I give this beautiful gift to you as a tool to find your own inner peace, wholeness, and purpose. So you too can embrace who you are with compassion and acceptance.

Although I focus mostly on empowering women to love and trust the nature of true self, my mission is to make healthy lifestyle changes possible to all who desire this change or feel the call to reach out.

Let’s get real

Whether you believe it or not, you are here for a reason. You asked for help, you searched, you begged, you called out to your Higher Power and asked for guidance.

And Now Your’e Here!

That’s step # 1!

You’re here because there is a longing in you to change, to improve, to become more self-aware, to find bliss, balance,and feel more connected to the world around you.

I know where you’re at. I know because I have been there.

With experience comes knowledge. With knowledge and observation comes wisdom.

And here’s where I give you a little bit of my wisdom, from my own experience.


Step # 2.


“SKIN IN THE GAME“


You can ask all you want; ask until the cows come home as they say. But until you’re ready to put some “skin in the game” to achieve your goals, you’re essentially up river without a paddle

So, what do I mean by that? Put some skin in the game? How do I do that? It’s simple. You do whatever it takes. Maybe for you that looks like learning to trust your gut or follow your heart more. Maybe it’s journaling for self-reflection or meditation to help you reduce stress and anxiety. Maybe it’s intermittent fasting or giving up processed foods and alcohol. Whatever “skin in the game” looks like or feels right for you is exactly what you should be doing to get to where you want to go.

And now....Oh look! A paddle!

You have to do something different, to see something different. Meaning, you can’t expect change when you’re not changing the habits and you can’t expect different results when the format is the same.

But you don’t have to do it alone. And you won’t be alone.

And lastly. Enjoy the process. There will be challenges. The old you will resist and try to come up with a million different excuses to stay in your old habit form. Because as unhealthy as the old you was, it was safe, and familiar. There will be difficult times ahead. But, there will also be triumphs, wins, and chills down your spine when you discover something new about yourself.


Enjoy the process and remember this version of you today. Take a moment to be in the present, and reflect on this version of you that you are right now. This very well could be the last time you ever see them again.
